About

Everything on this site was pinched, rolled, coiled, painted and glazed by me, Helen (Pik-Yan is my Cantonese middle name). I'm yet to do a photo shoot in the studio, so here's a photo of me looking awkward outside a church in Lagos.

I’ve been working with ceramics since 2019, when I first picked up clay in an evening class. Many hours of therapeutic practice later, I’m still honing my craft from a communal studio in East London, producing small batches of functional everyday items.

All my pieces are hand-built - meaning without a potter’s wheel - although I'm working on improving my throwing skills. I like to incorporate bright glazes and playful patterns, hoping to bring a moment of joy to the daily routines of life. I hope you enjoy them!

Keep up to date with my works in progress, upcoming markets and shop stockists on my Instagram.
